Crafting fun with My Friend
Crafts can be fun even when it's not necessarily an "adult" keepsake. Today I visited with a friend for brunch and crafting. We really enjoyed making these witch's hats (pictured above, on Baily). The only materials we used were strong construction paper, felt, and hot glue. We were like kids again. We also baked halloween cookies with her son. Ahhh, I love fall!
Ceramic Picture Frame
This frame was made at my bachelorette party in 2006. I love it because each person made a tile. I chose 4 colors they could use within each of their tiles. We made this one at a make and take pottery place in Okemos, MI. There are a lot of pottery places like it. How fun.

Summer Craft Project w/ my Sister
This summer my sister and I made some stepping stones while we were on vacation at Houghton Lake. She used her daughter's hand print, while I used my two golden retriever's paw prints. We bought the stones and stencils at Arnie's Craft store and the cement from Home Depot (because it was cheaper for a larger amount there).

Distressing My Grandma's Chest
Today I began revamping my grandmother's old chest that was handed down to me. I wanted it to be a fitting peice in my living room. My style tends to be cottage/traditional. As a result, I wanted to paint this chest black, but distress it to give it a more antique, cottage look. So far it only has the first coat of black and I have ordered a custom cut, high density foam for a cushion I intend to put on top. I found the foam at Foam n' More And Upholstery, a company based out of Troy, Michigan. They allowed me to give them specific measurements and a relatively cheap price.
